Manufacturing/Weld Engineer St. Louis, MO HiFyve is hiring a Manufacturing Weld Engineer in the manufacturing industry in St. Louis, MO. Salary: $90,000 - $130,000 yearly Shift: 1st Shift Location: St. Louis, MO (relocation available)
Job Duties and Responsibilities - Provide production support for the welding department under the general direction of the Plant Manager.
- Design weld fixtures, develop welding process specifications, and create programming and equipment specifications for various welding types, including Mig, Tig, spot, and flash welding.
- Support additional aspects of tube fabrication and assembly processes.
- Analyze and address quality and process control issues in existing production work, providing direction to resolve problems.
- Introduce new processes to improve quality and efficiency within the welding department.
- Design, develop, implement, and analyze technical processes and systems to enhance manufacturing operations.
- Design and procure fixtures for the welding department and improve existing welding processes.
- Document improvements in welding processes and ensure they are properly communicated and implemented.
- Diagnose and resolve manufacturing problems, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- Recommend process changes to enhance quality and efficiency, striving for maximum efficiency in both personnel and space utilization.
- Utilize problem-solving abilities to support the production and maintenance departments.
- Set up machines and check parts during production to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with outside vendors to procure necessary materials and services.
- Assist Sales and Project Managers by supporting sales calls and customer visits.
- Uphold and support company goals, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Maintain professional standards of conduct when interacting with superiors, colleagues, and production personnel.
- Support the maintenance and upkeep of manufacturing equipment.
- Ensure product quality meets company goals, preventing defects that could lead to damage, loss, or fines.
- Manage business contacts with internal and external parties, requiring resourcefulness, tact, and a solid understanding of company policies and business practices.
- Safeguard confidential information related to manufacturing know-how, patents, and other sensitive data in accordance with company policy
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Must have a minimum of a four-year degree in an engineering discipline.
- Minimum two years' experience with robotic Mig welding in a manufacturing environment.
- Sound knowledge of engineering theory and manufacturing techniques.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Developing and maintaining accurate records and reports
- Effective use of time and materials to ensure quality parts to the customer on time
- Analyzing and independently solving process problems
- Interpersonal communications verbally and in writing, with a diverse range of people
- Maintaining effective business relations with other departments and customers
