Kelly is looking for an Analytical Chemist to work with our client who focuses on developing specialty additives that support the production and performance of waterborne polymer dispersions and Coatings formulations. The Analytical Chemist will support the development and characterization of new molecules and processes for specialty additives that enhance the performance of waterborne polymer dispersions and coatings formulations. The Analytical Chemist will work in a GMP setting and use various analytical techniques, such as GC, HPLC, LC, UV/Vis, KF, etc., to ensure the quality and safety of the products and processes. The Analytical Chemist will also collaborate with other research teams in different scientific domains, such as organic/polymer chemistry, chemical reaction engineering, microbiology, and process safety.
Key Responsibilities
Understand and respect all site safety rules.
Maintain good laboratory practices - includes working in a shared lab environment with other scientists, accurately documenting work done
Perform analytical testing and characterization of molecules, intermediates, and final products using various techniques, such as GC, HPLC, LC, UV/Vis, KF, etc.
Interpret and report the analytical data and results internally and externally
Support the development of new molecules and processes in different disciplines, such as organic/polymer chemistry, chemical reaction engineering, mixing, etc.
Develop and validate analytical methods and protocols for new and existing products and processes
Follow GMP guidelines and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards
Periodically summarize results and discuss conclusions with the project team and the analytical team.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
Understand and follow key safety policies and procedures for the site, including but not limited to the following: Emergency response / Crisis management / evacuation guidelines. Visitor Safety Policy. Housekeeping. Know the location of first aid and emergency response equipment, chemicals, and chemical documentation.

Requirements:
BS degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related field
1-4 years of industry experience in analytical chemistry techniques, such as GPC/SEC, GC, HPLC, LC, UV/Vis, KF, etc.
GPC/SEC required
Experience in working in a GMP setting and following quality and safety standards
Interest in hands on laboratory work
Proactivity, autonomy and open-mindedness
Good written and oral communication skills
Ability to work on several projects
Be able to solve problems
**Training will be provided the first few weeks after start date.
